Cash price
A fuel price offered for cash or cash-equivalent payment, often lower than credit price at some truck stops.
Why It Matters
Cash price is one of the comparison points for diesel pricing. Using the wrong reference price can overstate or understate a card discount.
What to Check
- Ask whether card pricing starts from cash price or another network price.
- Compare the card price against the payment method the truck would otherwise use.
- Record the location and date because posted prices can change quickly.
